Curacao License

The country of Curaçao is part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. It is notable for being the first country within the European Union (EU) to officially legalize «Online Gambling.» The initial licenses for land-based casinos were issued in 1993, followed by those for online casinos in 1996. Today, over 400 providers operate under this license, including some of the most prestigious casinos worldwide.

A significant advantage of this is that operators, once granted, are subject to only a 2% corporate tax. Also, no value-added tax. However, there are drawbacks to this license. Operators are prohibited from doing business in specific countries, including Curaçao itself, the USA, France, and the Netherlands. Additionally, its regulatory authority is considered less robust compared to other jurisdictions.

Before engaging in play at any casino, verify that it possesses a valid license. How can you do this? License information is typically located at the bottom of the casino website. It’s often represented by an icon that links to a page displaying the license details. A license should include the following information:

The official regulator’s website maintains a comprehensive list of all issued licenses. The license should appear as active on that list.
